Big Synergy boss Siddharth Basu reportedly mentioned that television is living under the tyranny of TRPs. While we
agree with Mr. Basu, but at the same time we must admit that TRPs is the sole indicator of a show's success. The
lower the TRPs, the lower is the survival rate of the show.
'India's Got Talent – Khoj 2' hasn't fared poorly in its opening week. It's just perhaps Colors and Big Synergy
expected more numbers. Even going by the numbers, there seems nothing disappointing at all.
The show
was launched on July 30 at the 9.00 pm slot. It fetched a TVR of 3.08 in the opening episode. The rating got better
on the following day with 'India's Got Talent – Khoj 2' touching 3.55 TVR. That's an encouraging sign.
However, these numbers are less than the over 4 TVR which the show achieved in its maiden episode last year. The
numbers are even less than the low profile 'Chak Dhoom Dhoom' that opened with a 4.4 TVR.
On the other hand, 'India's Got Talent – Khoj 2' has emerged as the second best rated non-fiction show. Zee TV's 'L'il
Masters' leads the non-fiction chart with 3.78 TVR.
Sony's 'Indian Idol' (2.62) is next in line, followed by Star
Plus' 'Chhote Ustaad' (2.1). Big Synergy's 'Big Money' has simply failed to take off. The show could only manage a
TVR of 0.68 last week.
